Jaipur, Sep 29 : Rajasthan government has suspended Krishna Kunal and Hinglaj Dan, who were posted as District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police of Bharatpur when it witnessed communal violence recently, officials said.
Kunal, Dan and then Additional SP of the district Om Prakash were suspended last night, officials said. Kunal, Dan were removed from their positions on September 16 and were under Awaiting Posting Orders (APO) status. The decision has been taken as the officials failed to control the situation on September 14 when two communities clashed over a land-related dispute in Gopalgarh area, officials said.
The violence has claimed ten lives. IG, Bharatpur Range Sunil Dutt has been put on Awaiting Posting Order (APO) and replaced by Anand Srivastav, they said.
SP Ajmer B K Pandey has been transfered to Chittorgarh following a recent incident of burning of a holy book in Sarwar town of Ajmer, they said.
Jodhpur's Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Meena will replace Pandey, officials said adding that a special investigation team has been constituted to probe the incident.PTI
