Unnao case: Accused MLA's brother threatening witnesses from jail, alleges rape survivor's uncle

The uncle of 17-year-old Unnao rape survivor has alleged that accused MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar's brother Atul has been threatening the witnesses from the jail.

Atul Sengar was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh police for beating survivor's father, which led to his death in custody. But rape survivors' uncle has alleged that on Atul's order, his men have been roaming around in the village and have been threatening everyone to stay away from the case.

The uncle further alleged that the police were in cahoots with Atul and were helping him run his operations from the jail.

He added that his nephew has also gone missing from the past four days.

Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has made the second arrest in the Unnao rape case today as it took into custody Shashi Singh, the woman who allegedly took the 17-year-old victim girl to the prime accused, BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, officials said.

The CBI has also been given seven-day custody of the BJP MLA.
