Thunderstorm hits India: Hailstorm likely to occur in parts of Uttarakhand today

Incidents of thunderstorm and lightning have claimed 50 lives in five states of the country since Sunday.

Thunderstorm and hail storm are likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarakhand including Dehradun, Pauri, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Nainital, Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat and Pithoragarh, between 3 to 6 pm today, ANI reported.

Incidents of thunderstorm and lightning have claimed 40 lives in parts of north and eastern India since Sunday.

While nine people were killed and six others injured in incidents of thunderstorm and lightning in some parts of Uttar Pradesh, at least 19 persons, including a number of women and children, were killed in various parts of Bihar Monday night. 

High-velocity wind and thunderstorm lashed parts of Jharkhand on Sunday that uprooted dozens of trees and electricity poles and eventually killed 12.

4:16 pm: According to Met department, thunderstorm accompanied with hailstorm is likely to hit Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur and Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh on May 30.

3:28 pm: Thunderstorm/hail storm likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Pauri, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Nainital, Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat and Pithoragarh, between 3 to 6 pm today, reports ANI.
