Scientific analysis reveal that the rocks are 7,000 years
Scientific analysis reveal that the rocks are 7,000 years old but are sitting on the top of sand that is only 4,000-years-old, says the narrator in the promo.

A promo on Discovery Communications-owned Science Channel has reignited the controversy on the Ram Setu. “Are the ancient Hindu myths of a land bridge connecting India and Sri Lanka true? Scientific analysis suggests they are,” claims a two-minute long documentary, titled “What on Earth: A land bridge” that is scheduled to be aired on Wednesday.

In the show, a group of oceanologists and archaeologists, citing images from a NASA satellite, claim that the investigators have found a  30-miles-long line of rocks between Sri Lanka and India. In the video, American archaeologists say that 50-km stretch between Pamban Island near Rameshwaram in India and Mannar Island off Sri Lanka is man-made.

“There are Hindu legends that the God Rama placed a bridge here, connecting India and Sri Lanka,” says geologist Alan Lester. Another expert could be heard saying that building such a bridge at that point of time in history would have been a “super human achievement”.

Scientific analysis reveal that the rocks are 7,000 years old but are sitting on the top of sand that is only 4,000-years-old, says the narrator in the promo.

Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy and Union minister Smriti Irani were also seen tweeting about the Adam's bridge video.
