Speaking at a public gathering Jaipur where he laid foundation of projects worth Rs 2100 crore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress describing it as a 'bail-gaadi'. PM Modi was apparently referring to several top Congress leaders, including its president Rahul Gandhi, being out on bail in various cases. PM Modi also heaped praise on Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for 'transforming' the state after Congress's 'misrule'.

"The way the programme in Jaipur has been organised is commendable. Hearing beneficiaries is wonderful. There are some people who will never appreciate good work done, be it by the Centre or by Vasundhara Raje ji but everyone must see the happiness of the beneficiaries here," PM Modi said.

"I can never forget the tough circumstances in which Vasudhara ji took oath in 2013. When she took oath, systems were not working properly. She has changed the work culture in the state," he added.

Modi laid the foundation stone for thirteen urban infrastructure projects, with a total outlay of Rs 2100 crore. He witnessed an audio-visual presentation of experience sharing by 12 beneficiaries of schemes of the Government of India and Government of Rajasthan. It was moderated by CM Vasundhara Raje.

The PM's beneficiaries interaction programme was held at Amrudon Ka Bagh in Jaipur. Over 2 lakh beneficiaries reached Jaipur from all 33 districts of the state to take part in this programme. State government made massive arrangements to ferry beneficiaries from different districts of the state.

According to a PTI report, the Rajasthan government spent over Rs 7 crore to ferry the beneficiaries of the welfare schemes to the rally in Jaipur. The money for this largely comes from funds for the schemes.
