Congress president Rahul Gandhi has reacted to the audacious terror attack on CRPF convoy in which 40 troopers were killed on Thursday in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. Describing the attack as 'cowardly', Rahul Gandhi offered his condolences to the family of martyrs.
"I’m deeply disturbed by the cowardly attack on a CRPF convoy in J&K in which 10 of our brave men have been martyred and many others wounded. My condolences to the families of our martyrs. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured," Rahul Gandhi said in his tweet.
At least 40 CRPF personnel were killed in Pulwama district when a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the bus they were travelling in.
The terror group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
Police identified the terrorist as Adil Ahmad from Kakapora in Pulwama. He joined the Jaish-Mohammed in 2018.
Several people were injured in the terror attack, which reduced the bus to a mangled heap of iron. Body parts could be seen strewn around the area.
The vehicle was blown up on the Srinagar-Jammu highway in Awantipora area of the district, a police official said.
