Puducherry: Counting of votes began for the 30 Assembly constituencies in Puducherry at 8 am.
ALL India NR Congress and INC-DMK alliance are in a close race as both are leading in 10 seats. AIADMK is leading in two seats.
In Yanam Congress candidate Malladi Krishna Ray leads by margin of 7925 votes. Congress candidate M.Kandasamy leads by 127 votes in Embalam, AINRC candidate P.R.N Thirumurugan leads in Karaikal North.
Former Congress CM V. Vaithilingam leads by 1884 votes in Kamaraj Nagar. AINRC candidate T.P.R.Selvam leads by 73 votes in Mannadipet. In Yanam constituency Congress candidate Malladi Krishna Rao leads by margin of 722. He secures 3302 while his opponent AINRC candidate Tirukoti Bairavasamy get 2580.
In the DMK, unit organisers AMH Nazeem, S.P. Sivakumar and R. Siva are among the notable candidates.
