Patna: JDU MLA Bima Bharti's son found dead near railway track

The body was found on railway tracks near NMCH.

According to reports, MLA Bima Bharti's son had gone to meet his friend on Thursday evening. 

The Patna Police on Friday recovered the body JDU MLA Bima Bharti's son from railway tracks near Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH). According to reports, the police received information regarding a body lying on railways tracks near NMCH following which a team rushed to the spot.

The body was later identified as that of Rupauli JDU MLA Bima Bharti's son Deepak. The police has sent the body for post-mortem and launched an investigation in to the case. It is yet to be ascertained whether it is a case of suicide or murder.  

"It is not suicide, it is murder. My son was killed," a weeping Bima Bharti told the media. 

Local media reported quoting a family member of the controversial MLA that her son had gone to meet his friends at Musallahpur Haat in Patna on late Thursday night but he didn't return till late night. 

Bima Bharti, who served as a minister in 2014-15, was in news when her gangster husband Awadhesh Mandal had escaped from police station in 2016. Mandal is reportedly facing over 100 cases of murder, extortion and kidnapping.

 

Meanwhile, Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav slammed the Nitish Kumar government over the deteriorating law and order scenario in Bihar.

"In a shocking incident, son of a JDU MLA & Ex. Minister is found dead in Patna. I’m saddened to hear about it. Bihar’s law & order situation is completely out of order," Tejashwi tweeted.
