Nitin Gadkari in Aap Ki Adalat

Calling our prime minister ‘thief’ shows how immature Rahul Gandhi is, said Union Road Transport, Shipping and Water Resources Minister Nitin Gadkari. In conversation with India TV Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Rajat Sharma on Aap Ki Adalat, Gadkari claimed this was not how the Congress party used to work during the regime of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Rajiv Gandhi and Indira Gandhi.

The Union minister further said such terms being used by Rahul Gandhi will harm the workings of the Congress party.

“Such language being used by Rahul Gandhi is not harming the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in any way. The Congress president is harming his own party, its leaders and workers by using such words. He is harming the future of his party,” Gadkari said.

Speaking on the functionality of a democracy, the Union minister said the government at the Centre and the Opposition, both should be strong.

On being quizzed over nick names given to Rahul Gandhi by some of the BJP leaders, the Union minister responded by saying any such names and terms being used for the Congress president are inappropriate and should not be used.

“I do not stand by any comments or names given to Rahul Gandhi by our party,” he said.

Gadkari further insisted on introducing positive changes into the democracy and said clash of perspectives is expected.

“We fight on the basis of our ideologies, economic program and on the basis of development,” said the Union minister.

“All parties should contribute in surging the level of governance and politics,” he added.
