Counting of votes for the Lok Sabha polls is in full swing and early trends show sitting MP from Hyderabad, Asaduddin Owaisi, will most likely retain his seat.

Since 1989, Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency has been the bastion of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM).

Hyderabad went to polls on April 11 and recorded 44.75 per cent voter turnout.

Post his retirement in 2004, his son Asaduddin Owaisi was elected as the MP; he has been serving the seat for consecutively three times now.

Owaisi's party is an ally of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in Telangana.
