Diwali celebrations this year are going to look a lot different than the ones w might have known since childhood, especially if you are a firecracker aficionado. While Supreme Court has put partial ban on certain kinds of firecrackers, it has allowed people to burst them at certain timings. 

Unlike last time, when national capital region openly flouted the apex court's blanket ban on firecrackers, this year the law enforcement has taken serious steps to ensure that no one sells, purchases or bursts banned firecrackers across the nation. 

Since October 23, the Delhi Police has seized over 3,500 kg of firecrackers from various parts of the city and arrested 26 persons for storing them without license. last week, a father was reportedly arrested after his neighbour reported his children bursting crackers in the locality. 

But don't worry, there is a way for you to celebrate Diwali with firecrackers, if you must, and stay a law-abiding citizen. Just burst crackers during the time-slots assigned by the Supreme Court.

  • New Delhi: 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm.
  • Mumbai, Maharashtra: 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm.
  • Kolkata, West Bengal: 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm. 
  • Chennai, Tamil Nadu: 6.00 am to 7.00 am and 7.00 pm to 8.00 pm.
  • Bengaluru, Karnataka: 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm. 
  • Hyderabad, Telangana: 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm. 
  • Amritsar, Punjab: 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm. 
  • Goa: 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm.
