Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday said that the national capital has the worst kind of governance model which has been further complicated by the involvement of multiple agencies of the Centre, state government and local bodies, leading to a 'confusing situation'.

Speaking at a conclave organised by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sisodia said that the governance is scattered among the Centre, Delhi government and local bodies. Addressing the conclave on the subject 'strong states makes nation strong', the deputy chief minister said that that Delhi is marred by a myriad of governance-related disputes.

His statements comes amidst the ongoing tussle between the AAP government and the Centre and the office  Lieutenant Governor on matters of governance, despite the Supreme Court granting the government executive powers in all subjects except land, law, police and order.

The confusion in matters of governance leads to a confused state of mind which is not good for the stakeholders including the industry and business, the deputy chief minister said.

"If you have to seek permission to hold an event, you will have to first determine which agency to approach. There should be clarity on issues of governance otherwise the state becomes weak," he said.

Businesses require a strong state to prosper, he added.
