Over two months after the Indian Army carried out surgical strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir killing 40-45 terrorists, intelligence agencies have warned that several similar launch pads have resurfaced in PoK.

According to a Deccan Chronicle report, intelligence reports have claimed that as many as 40 to 45 such launch pads have resurfaced in a 5-6 km section of the LoC and are being heavily protected by the Pakistani Army.

Bewildered with the September 29 surgical strikes, the Pakistani security forces have shifted these camps and launch pads away from the LoC and International Border into the densely-populated localities of PoK.

The report further cited intelligence sources claiming that the security agencies are closely monitoring this build-up along the border, suspecting a steep rise in infiltration bids.

With the increasing operations by the security forces in the Kashmir Valley, the number of active terrorists has come down to 200 and the terror groups are finding it difficult to get reinforcements and supplies from across the border.

“The fact that militants will try and infiltrate during winter when the mountain passes become inaccessible due to the heavy snow shows that these terror operatives have been given training for operating in high-altitude areas,” Deccan Chronicle quoted a senior official as saying.

This kind of specialised high-altitude training can only be given by the Pakistan Army to these militants, and once again it establishes how the Pakistani state continues to sponsor anti-India subversive activities,” he added.

On the other hand, security officials have admitted that with the increased security cover provided by Pakistan Army to these terror launch pads, it would be difficult to carry out another surgical strike.
