New Delhi: Bollywood actresses Dia Mirza and Sushmita Sen glam up the Myntra Fashion Weekend (MFW) started yesterday.
The three-day fashion gala in its first season promises to bring together an exciting line-up of designers from across the country to showcase their collections.
And to add to the charm of designer's creativity, a bevy of Bollywood style icons graced the runway.
The opening show featured former beauty queens and actresses Sushmita Sen and Dia Mirza scorching the ramp as the showstoppers for Rina Dhaka and for filmmaker Karan Johar's Marquee range for fashion brand Vero Moda, respectively.
Veteran designer Rina Dhaka kick-started the event with a monochromatic collection, curated from the Myntra.com collection.
From cotton dresses with floral prints to crop tops, shorts, long dresses and loose trousers, the show channeled a beach-like vibe.
While the occasional office-wear skirts and round-neck shirts stood out, the highlight of the show was the leggy Sushmita Sen, who exuded rocker-chic style in a loose woven grunge top with faux leather tights and knee-high black boots.
The diva brought her electric energy to the afternoon with a sexy dance on the ramp with multi-instrumentalist Raghav Sachar, who performed at the show.
Making a stylish move from films to fashion, producer and director Karan Johar presented his collection titled 'Marquee' for fashion brand Vero Moda. From silver beaded skirts and jackets to gold sequin tops, floral trousers and black lace details, the night-look added glam quotient to the runway.
Actor and bride-to-be Dia Mirza gave a surprising and refreshingly strong look as the showstopper, dressed in a black and gold detailed biker jacket paired with wide legged black trousers and strappy black heels.
Designers like Masaba Gupta, Priya Kataria Puri, Monica Dogre, Shivan Naresh and Rakesh Agarwal were other noted faces who presented their creations at the show on day 1.
The second day of the event will see actress Kalki Koechlin kicking off the glamour quotient in a show that will showcase Myntra's Look Good Fall collection crafted by Ami Patel.
The final day will see faces like Mandira Bedi, who will walk for her own collection. Diana Penty and Lisa Haydon will be seen sashaying down the runway for other shows.
Hrithik will walk the ramp for the first time for his newly launched active lifestyle apparel and casual wear brand HRX.
