New Delhi: Premarital sex might be common thing to talk about but it still is a restricted arena that we aren't allowed to explore.

Why such ambiguity? People who once openly talked about pre-marital sex are now cautious while choosing their life partners as they just prefer a virgin partner.

The thing is we all want to taste the wine but don't want to get drunk, we want to eat the cake and not intend to gain weight.

If you are reading this and are born somewhere in late 80s or early 90s, then you must have gone through this every day. You want to party hard and get drunk but are scared of exposing your hidden plans to your loved ones.

You aren't worried of the consequences, but are afraid of what people would come to think of you, once they know the real you. Haven't we heard, our parents jumping out of every situation saying, 'Chaar Log Kya Kahenge (What will the society think of us)'.

With the speed with which the current generation is surpassing all those orthodox boundaries that have been intangibly imposed by the older generations, one can just sit back and wait for the changing times.

Friends and mates can sit around flaunting their sexual experiences, showing off their intellectual side, sounding okay with pre-marital sex, talking about using protection all the time, but do they really support these modern views or just pretend?

The surge to fit within the society has compelled many teenagers and even adults to take up things, which they might not have done otherwise.

But Aman, a college student (name changed) says, "If two people love each other and the mutual understanding between them is good, they have full right to decide. In case of premarital sex, protection matters the most. Without it, one should not even think about it."

Dr Aruna Broota, a psychologist and counselor, expresses how the changing mindset of today's youth is highly destructive, she explains "Teenagers today believe they know each and everything about their body, its needs and consequences and those who do not match their attitude are considered to be narrow-minded."

In India, speaking about pre-marital sex could tag you as a dirty mind. Vrishank, a working professional adds, "Love is disappearing today and lust is destroying each 'HEART".

Here as you talk about pr-marital sex, the crowd around you would leave your sides much quicker than you could have ever imagined. A person would stand up and talk about how they are comfortable with their partner's sexual past but when it comes to choosing their life partner they would prefer a virgin mate.

Why such hypocrisy? Do they really believe in equal rights for men & women or do they just speak out for the sake of impressing others.
