New Delhi: The second edition of Vh1 Supersonic is likely to attract as many as over 100,000 aficionados in Goa December end, said organisers.

Indian and international talent in the electronic dance music (EDM) genre will come together for the musical fiesta, which is expected to enliven Goa's Candolim beach Dec 27-30.

"We had 60,000 EDM aficionados that came to Candolim to experience Vh1 Supersonic in 2013. This year, we are expecting the footfalls to double," Jaideep Singh, senior vice president and business head - INS, Viacom18 Pvt. Ltd., told IANS in an e-mail interaction.

Artists like Aly and Fila, Andrea Oliva, Above & Beyond, BL3ND, Dillon Francis, Funkagenda, John OO Fleming, Mat Zo, Maya Jane Coles, Mark Knights, Paul Van Dyk, Stanton Warriors and The Chainsmokers are some of international artists that will enthrall fans.

Among the Indian line-up announced so far, the fest will have Arjun Vagale, Ash Roy, Nawed Khan, Pearl, Tuhin Mehta, BREED and Vachan Chinnapa.

"Balance is crucial to this year's festival line-up. Every single act has been handpicked for their unique talent as an electronic dance music artist," Singh said.

Putting a festival of this magnitude requires a "great deal of work" and an "amazing team working behind the scenes".

To make the experience better, they are ensuring that the chosen location has provision for necessary amenities, close proximity to important landmarks and is well-connected to public transport.

"Keeping with the technological advancement, we are looking at various new-age expertise with regards to the lighting, setup, stage, DJ consoles and sound equipment. Vh1 Supersonic 2014 will have a massive main stage (more than 100 feet tall) and multiple innovative stages, all adding to the super experience," Singh said.

He also credits the Indian government for allowing two music festivals - VH1 Supersonic at Candolim and Sunburn Goa 2014 at Vagator - to take place around the same time frame, and for providing police support and traffic control officials to ensure everything goes smoothly.

Vh1 Supersonic is poised to be an annual property too.

"To keep the experience going on year-long, we have introduced over 100 multiple version in the forms of Vh1 Supersonic Club Nights, Vh1 Supersonic Arcade (three city tours) and Vh1 Supersonic 101 (college gigs)," said Singh.
