New Delhi: A grieving father got his wish fulfilled of seeing his baby daughter (now dead) without all the tubes.
Nathen Steffel's baby daughter lovingly named sofia could barely live up to six weeks before passing away last week leaving her parents heart-broken.
Nathen posted a heart-breaking request to any one who could come up and help the couple photoshop their baby daughter Sophia's pic.
Couple wanted to get a glimpse of their daughter without all the tubes that were bound all over her for her safety & health.
In a heart-pinching request Nathen urged people to come forward and help him and his wife to see his daughter without all the tubes by digitally enhancing her only pic that they had left with.
He posted the message over Reddit asking, "My daughter recently passed away after a long battle in the children's hospital."
He further wrote, "Since she was in the hospital her whole life, we never were able to get a photo without all her tubes. Can someone remove the tubes from this photo?"
The couple was overwhelmed with the stupendous response that they received in form of photoshopped pictures and sketches of his daughter without the hospital equipment.
“It's just awesome that this story and her pictures have touched so many people," said Nathan.
Sophia was diagnosed with a hepatic hemangioma in her liver and was apparently on the waiting list to get a new liver, but fate had other plans and she passed away following some complications involving the pressure on her abdomen due to her hemangioma.
The couple already was aware of their baby's condition through an early ultrasound but had no idea how serious it would get.
Nathen and his wife are so thankful to all those who helped them get hold on to their daughter's beautiful pictures, sketches and portraits.
He says, "We are going to hang up a few of our favourite photos and drawings. Also some of the artists were nice enough to mail us the pictures they made.”
He added, “At first there was so many responses I couldn't even keep up reading them."
“I stayed up until 3am that night trying to respond to everyone who had seemed to have a similar experience. It helped knowing that others cared enough to stop whatever they were doing in their own lives to either send me a picture or just their condolences. Sophia's father revealed.
