A woman in Florida gave birth to a baby girl prematurely. But looking at her photos, you can’t believe that she’s premature. The newborn weighs 13.5 at the time of her birth. She was delivered was Caesarean section almost a week before her due date. Soon, this news went viral with local and national media outlets. The mother, Chrissy already had three children, who weighed 9 to 10 pounds at the time of birth.
“When the pediatrician showed her to me across the curtain, I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, she’s huge,’” Chrissy told Inside Edition. “I couldn’t believe it. It was like I delivered a toddler.”
To celebrate the baby’s arrival, Corbitts organized a newborn baby photo shoot. The photographer, Debbye Benson of Sweet Smiles Photography was immensely happy to photograph the mini-celebrity. She posted on her Facebook page- “Her parents are so proud of her ― we will be bringing the whole family in for portraits this week.”
The family live in Keystone Heights, Florida. Chrissy told ABC News that her pregnancy has been tough for her as she is anemic and had to receive blood transfusions due to her low iron levels. But now she’s doing well and is extremely happy to have her little bundle of joy.
Now the new parents are just working things out to get clothes and diapers that fit Carleigh. Due to the above-normal size of the newborn, they had to donate most of the newborn-size items they bought before her birth. The baby girl is 3 weeks old and she’s already wearing the baby clothes meant for 9 months old!
“She’s just filled with rolls. She’s just a big squishy baby. She’s so adorable,” Chrissy told ABC News. “I had no idea she was going to be so popular. It’s been a great experience and I can’t wait to look back on this and share it with her to show her she became a celebrity overnight.”
