India TV Fact Check: A video is going viral on social media claiming that Nitish Kumar has left the BJP alliance. The viral video suggests that Nitish Kumar has changed his stance again. However, India TV fact-checked revealed this claim to be entirely false. This misinformation follows the recent Lok Sabha elections, where no party secured an absolute majority. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), having won the most seats, formed the government with support from other parties in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Currently, besides the BJP, the Janata Dal-United (JDU) under Nitish Kumar's leadership and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) under Chandrababu Naidu play crucial roles within the NDA.

What came out in fact check?

India TV's fact check has confirmed that the viral video circulating on social media is not recent and does not indicate any change in Nitish Kumar's stance. Upon investigation, it was found that the video is quite old and this is news from the time when Bihar CM Nitish Kumar had left the BJP alliance to join the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance). The misinformation falsely claimed Nitish Kumar had parted ways with the BJP again after the Lok Sabha elections. Therefore, people are advised to be cautious of any such post. India TV's fact check determined that the claim stating the viral video occurred after the Lok Sabha elections was false.
