Kaun Banega Crorepati 10: Binita Jain becomes the first crorepati of the season

Another contestant created history on the most popular reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati hosted by Amitabh Bachchan by winning a huge amount of Rs 1 crore. Assam’s Binita Jain became the first contestant to touch the mark and she couldn’t contain her excitement.

The tenth season of the quiz show has already been garnering much praise for bringing out the real heroes of the society and giving them a big platform and now with Binita Jain emerging out as the first Crorepati and just added to the glory. The lady won Rs 1 crore in Tuesday’s episode.

Are you wondering what was the question that changed her life completely? The question was, “In India, which case was heard by the largest ever Constitution bench of 13 judges?” Just like other questions, here too Binita knew the answer but as she put it, “the winning amount is the culprit”. Despite knowing the answer, she wasn’t confident enough to say it as, however after giving it a deep thought, Binita finally answered the question and won not only Rs 1 crore but also a car. She was evidently very happy and her father who accompanied her to the show was also very proud.

On the show, Binita told her tragic story and the hardship she faced in her life. She revealed that fifteen years ago, her husband was held captive by militants while he was on a business trip to a neighbouring state and he never returned. As teh result, Binita had to start her life again for her two children whom she raised and took up the job of a teacher.

Interesting, after winning Rs 1 crore, Binita was asked the next question worth Rs 7 crores which was, “Who invented the first stock ticker in 1867. The amount was so big that Binita felt quitting is better than loosing the money and gave up. However, the answer she gave after quitting the game was also correct and it would have made her win Rs 7 crore.
