Mersal: Telugu version of Vijay’s film postponed

The Telugu version of Vijay starrer Mersal, titled Adhirindhi, was set to release today.

It seems that things are not going to be easy for actor Vijay. After his film embroiled in a controversy over its dialogues, its Telugu version titled Adhirindhi, has been postponed. The movie was set to release today but due to delay by CBFC it got delayed. Producer Aditi Ravindranath shared the news on social media confirming that film will not hit the screens today.

Aditi took to micro-blogging site Twitter and tweeted, “#Adhirindhi not releasing tom. Will update on release date. @ThenandalFilms @nseplofficial.”

This is known to all that the Vijay enjoys huge fan following. Thus, this news made his fans sad and many on social media are seen accusing BJP for the delay. Mersal is doing wonderful collection at national and international box office. It has become one of the highest earning films of the actor’s career. Now, people are eagerly waiting for the makers to announce the release date of the Telugu version.

Vijay plays triple role in the film.

Directed by Atlee, the film also features Nithya Menon, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Kajal Aggarwal in pivotal roles. The movie has reportedly minted Rs 176 crore worldwide.
