Kannada superstar Yash’s film KGF: Chapter 1, despite clashing with Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero, earned good numbers at the box office. The film released on Friday along with SRK’s Zero, and despite the big clash, it managed to grab a total collection of Rs 59 crore. KGF stands for Kolar Gold Fields. It will be released in two parts, of which, one was released in theatres on December 21. Directed by Prashanth Neel, KGF opened to Rs 18.1 crore in India and Rs 25 crore worldwide.
However, KGF is impressive still. In international as well domestic markets, it continues its dream run. In US itself, the film has crossed Rs 2 crore. It is the fastest Kannada film to cross the $300,000 in the US market.
KGF was shot intensively in Kannada. It is released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. The trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the box office numbers. He wrote, “#KGF goes from strength to strength... Picks up momentum over the weekend... Fri 2.10 cr, Sat 3 cr, Sun 4.10 cr. Total: ₹ 9.20 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version.opening like Baahubali. However, the film’s opening day collection is far away from Prabhas starrer. Baahubali 2 made more than Rs 100 crore on its first day itself. “
