Avika Gor plays the central character of Anandi in Balika Vadhu, but the serial is in the middle of a crisis - television's youngest bahu has made up her mind to exit the show, reports Mumbai Mirror.
The report quoting a source said, “Balika Vadhu is all about Anandi's character but Avika Gor, the protagonist, has made up her mind to quit the show. The channel tried to persuade her to continue but she didn't relent. Now the channel is left with no option but to change the storyline.
They plan a sequence in which Anandi will be shot so that she can exit the show. The channel is still contemplating whether to show she is dead or show that she slips into a coma, so that they can buy some time to make her reconsider. However, Avika is in no mood to do so.”
With Anandi's character being phased out, the pressure on the makers of the serial is to shift the storyline to make other characters more relevant and not let the show suffer. “The storyline will now focus on the remaining actors so that over time, her absence won't be noticed quite so much. The creative team is busy working out new high points for the show.”
While officials from the channel remained unavailable for comment, producer Sunjoy Wadhwa said, “I can't reveal the storyline at this point of time.”
