Oscars 2023: Naatu Naatu won the Oscar for Best Original Song and celebrities across India can't keep calm.

Oscars 2023: RRR conquered the 95th Academy Awards in Los Angeles. SS Rajamouli directorial RRR's song Naatu Naatu won the Oscar for Best Original Song. MM Keeravani and lyricist Chandrabose accepted the award on behalf of the team as they sang a version of The Carpenters' hit Top Of The World in the acceptance speech. For the coveted golden statuette, Naatu Naatu beat competitors - Lady Gaga's Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick, Rihanna's Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, This Is A Life from Everything Everywhere All At Once, and Applause from Tell It Like A Woman.

The song's big win has undoubtedly brought smiles to everyone's faces. As soon as Naatu Naatu bagged the trophy, Indians worldwide beamed with pride and expressed happiness on social media. Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, Vivek Agnihotri, Chiranjeevi among others hailed RRR's Oscar win. "Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh," Alia, who played a pivotal role in 'RRR', reacted to the winning news.

Shah Rukh Khan tweeted, "Big hug to @guneetm & @EarthSpectrum for Elephant Whisperers. And @mmkeeravaani #ChandraBose ji @ssrajamouli @AlwaysRamCharan @tarak9999 thank u for showing us all, the way to do it. Both Oscars truly inspirational!!"

Ajay Devgn, who played actor Ram Charan's father in 'RRR', took to Instagram on Monday morning, and wrote: "As it is often said, cinema speaks a universal language. Congratulations to the teams of #RRR and #TheElephantWhisperers for their #Oscar wins. It's a proud (Indian flag emoji) moment."

Sharing the winning moment, Priyanka Chopra wrote, "Yesss team." She also added Indian Flag emoji to the caption.

Prabhas added, "History will remember #RRR as the first Indian cinema film to be honoured with an #Oscar, for #NaatuNaatu...Congratulations to the amazing team for the huge victory!"

Taking to Twitter, actor Rajinikanth wrote, "My hearty congratulations to Shri. Keeravani, Shri. Rajamouli and Shri. Kartiki Gonsalves for getting the prestigious Oscar Award. I salute to the proud Indians."

Sidharth Malhotra shared a collage picture on his stories and wrote, "A truly historic sight to wake up to! Congratulations to the teams of #ElephantWhisperers and #NaatuNaatu for grabbing the win at the Academy awards for Best documentary short film and Best Original Song respectively."

Dia Mirza said, "My son dances a lot on Naatu Naatu, I am very happy and most happy for Guneet Monga, feeling very proud, we have got such a big achievement. I love nature very much, so I am very happy to hear that Guneet's film got the award. It is a matter of great pride for the whole country."

Singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, who lend their voice to the original track, performed the fast-paced song for the Oscars audience with the music composer MM Keeravani and American dancer Lauren Gottlieb. Naatu Naatu celebrates the inclusive spirit of dance and bonhomie and features Charan and Jr NTR matching steps to its catchy rhythm. The title of the track translates to bucolic in Telugu. It demonstrates the spirit of fun in country music in its over 4.35 minutes of runtime.
