Today is International Women’s Day and it is being celebrated to honour all the women across the world. From politicians, Bollywood celebrities to cricketers, everyone has extended their wishes on social media.
One of those is Indian skipper Virat Kohli who took to Twitter and posted an overwhelming tribute to wife Anushka Sharma while wishing all the women around the world on International Women’s Day. Kohli, who has always batted for women empowerment and equality, is also not the one to shy away from praising his wife.
Virat posted a subtle note on Twitter. "Tag the extraordinary woman in your life who is #BetterThanEqual," wrote Captain Kohli, tagging Anushka.
Virat shared a video in which he can be seen elaborating, how women are not equal to men, but are better than equal to them. Looking super cool in a casual blue tee with 'Stay Strong' written on it, Virat says, "Men and woman aren't equal. I really wish we were. Honestly, the fact is, it's easier to be one than the other. Sexual harassment, discrimination, sexism, domestic abuse and threats of violence...and the list goes on. Despite all of this, women rise and shine in all walks of life. Still think they're equal? No, they're better than equal. To all the woman all around the world, I wish you all a very happy Women's Day."
Meanwhile, other sport personalities like Sachin Tendulkar, Virendra Sehwag, former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, wrestler Sangram Singh have also extended their wishes on this special day. Have a look:
