On January 21 2018, Sushant Singh Rajput is celebrating his 32nd birthday. As per the reports, the actor is in Chambal, shooting for his upcoming Abhishek Chaubey film. Looking at his social media posts, he is expected to ring in his 32nd birthday in the Chambal valley with his team. The film stars Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana. While the chocolate boy of Bollywood is busy shooting for his upcoming, let’s have a look at the inspiration journey of this Patna boy, who carved a niche for himself in the showbiz industry.
Sushant Singh Rajput secured admission in Delhi College of Engineering, which is one of the most reputed Engineering colleges of India. He was also a National Olympiad Winner in Physics. You’ll go green with jealously to know that this handsome dude managed to clear as many as 11 engineering entrance exams!
But Sushant knew he had his calling elsewhere. Completing only three years in college, he dropped out of engineering to pursue a career in acting. Honestly, how many of us have the guts to take a risk as big as this?
The idea of acting struck Sushant Singh Rajput’s mind when he enrolled in Shiamak Davar’s dance classes. Following this, he joined Barry John’s acting classes where he found a spark in himself for acting. He once said, “I found the experience liberating. I realised that I could communicate with the audience. I knew I wanted to do this forever."
Did you know that Sushant Singh Rajput was one of the background dancers at the 51st Filmfare Awards? Who knew that fate might one day take him to the forefront!
Sushant moved to Mumbai to follow his dreams. He joined Nadira Babbar’s Ekjute theatre group and acted there for two and a half years. During this time, he got a break in TV advert Nestle Munch.
It was in 2008 that his life took a pleasant turn. He was spotted by the casting team of Balaji Telefilms. He was invited for an audition and impressed by his skills, the makers handed him the role of Preet Juneja in Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil. But his character died pretty early in the show. Owing to his popularity, his character was revived in the series finale in the form of a spirit.
In 2009 Sushant Singh Rajput bagged the titular role of Manav Deshmukh in Pavitra Rishta. It was in this serial, he found his former lady love Ankita Lokhande. He also participated in a dance reality show Zara Nachke Dikha 2. And for the uninitiated, he managed to shoot for both, Zara Nachke Dikha 2 and Pavitra Rishta at the same time!
In 2011 he bade farewell to Pavitra Rishta to pursue a film making course abroad. After two years, he auditioned for Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che and rest what happened is history! His role as Ishaan Bhatt won millions of hearts. In fact, his debut film is considered to be one of the finest works of the actor. We’re sure many more such roles are yet to come.
Also, not to forget his 2015 suspense-thriller Byomkesh Bakshi. We cannot imagine anybody else than Sushant Singh Rajput who could have played the role of the Bengali detective better than him.
Talking about his upcoming project, Sushant Singh Rajput will be next seen in Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath with Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan. The film is slated to release in June 2018.
