Pulwama terror attack: After Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan donates to Bharat Ke Veer fund 

In the wake of a terror attack on a CRPF convoy in Kashmir that claimed the lives of at least 40 soldiers, Bollywood actor Salman Khan has contributed to Bharat Ke Veer fund for the martyr's families. Forty CRPF soldiers were killed and five others critically injured when a suicide bomber rammed a vehicle laden with explosives into their bus on Thursday. The Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) has claimed responsibility for the attack on the convoy of 78 vehicles that was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar.

The Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, took to his Twitter account to thank Salman Khan for this commendable act. He tweeted, "Thank you @BeingSalmanKhan on offering to contribute for Pulwama Martyrs through BEING HUMAN FOUNDATION. I'll work out for handing over of the cheques in the account of #BharatKeVeer @BharatKeVeer." 

Furthermore, the team of Uri: The Surgical Strike united with RSVP to contribute Rs 1 crore to the families of 49 CRPF troppers who died in the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. "RSVP &Team URI committed Rs. 1 Cr to families of URI attack /Army Welfare Fund -will ensure part goes to victims #Pulwama ..but urge more to respond -in small lots - and also our Indian “Unicorns” to donate graciously", Ronnie Screwvala tweeted.

Meanwhile, megastar Amitabh Bachchan has donated Rs 5 Lakh each to the families of the martyrs. 

His spokesperson confirmed the news, saying: "Yes, Mr Bachchan will be giving Rs 5 lakh to each of the martyr's families and is currently finding out the correct process to do so."

The Piku actor on Friday also cancelled his attendance as a special guest of Virat Kohli's Foundation event, which will now be held on Saturday. On the similar note, Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi cancelled attending an event organised by Karachi Art Council in the wake of the ghastly Pulwama attack.
