Bollywood’s desi girl Priyanka Chopra has been ruling over the headlines these days for her Big Fat Indian wedding to American singer Nick Jonas at the royal Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur. The newlywed couple has made their first appearance after the marriage together as they arrived in the capital city, New City, for their wedding reception and looked absolutely stunning. This is no secret that even two days before her royal wedding, Priyanka Chopra was shooting for her next Bollywood film The Sky Is Pink and it is expected that the actress will bounce back to her work soon. The buzz has it that she has even signed her next Bollywood project as well.
Reportedly, Priyanka Chopra has been signed by ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali to play the lady don for his next project called Heera Mandi. The film is reportedly based on the life of Gangubai Kothewali, one of the most dreaded pimps of Kamathipura, Mumbai’s red light area. The project will have Priyanka playing the lead role of the film. The actress has been in talks with the filmmaker for a long time and it was earlier said that she has opted out of a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film because of date issues. However, Priyanka’s mother refused the rumours then.
"Sanjay Bhansali has a lot of love and regard for Priyanka Chopra, however, no such film has been discussed," the director's spokesperson had earlier said, refuting reports of her quitting the gangster drama. Now if Priyanka has really singed up for the project, the director-actor duo will reunite after their blockbuster film Bajirao Mastani.
Talking about Gangubai Kothewali, the film circles the life of Gangubai who had stood up for the rights of prostitutes and had pushed several women into the business to save them from their miserable situations. Gangubai was also believed to have a lot of connections with powerful people. Hussain Zaidi’s book 'Mafia Queen of Mumbai' has a detailed description of the lady don.
While the rumours are rife, there has been no official confirmation about the film as well as Priyanka Chopra signing it yet.

One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other's faiths and cultures. And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so so amazing. An important part of the pre wedding rituals for the girl in an Indian wedding is the Mehendi. Once again we made it our own and it was an afternoon that kicked off the celebrations in the way we both dreamed. @nickjonas

It all began as a fierce song & dance competition between the families but ended, as always, as a huge celebration of love. Nick and I were looking forward to the Sangeet (musical evening), another pre wedding ritual.. and to see what each side had put together. And what a performance it was. Each family telling our stories through song and dance, filled with lots of laughter and love. We were both filled with gratitude for the effort, the love and the laughter and will carry the memories of this special evening for the rest of our lives. It is an amazing start to a lifetime of togetherness for our families and friends...#grateful @nickjonas 📹/📷: @calebjordanlee @josevilla @josephradhik
