Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone's fake image goes viral

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone grab eyeballs wherever they go. The power couple's star presence can leave anyone mesmerized. As the poll season is underway, celebrities too have made sure not to miss this celebration of democracy. While some being vocal, have expressed their political views openly, others have preferred talking only about their craft. Celebrities such as Kangana Ranaut and Shankar Mahadevan are in support of BJP, others such as Javed Akhtar and Soni Razdan have urged people not to vote for Prime Minister Modi.

With the poll season, also comes fake news and digitally altered images to manipulate voters. This time, Deepika and Ranveer have become victim of this fake news cell as their digitally altered photos are all over the internet. In the picture, the couple can be seen wearing saffron scarves which has "Vote for BJP N Modi" printed on it. The image has been posted by a page which has over 36,000 followers and so far, it has been shared for over 5000 times. The caption reads, ''जय श्री राम #Vote4Bjp #NamoAgain,'' while the text on the image urges people to ''press the lotus button (and) become a part of the nation’s progress."

Those who have been following politics and Bollywood are well aware that the picture is nowhere close to reality. Actually, the original image is of Deepika and Ranveer's Siddhivinayak Temple visit soon after their marriage. Have a look at real photos here

As 2019 Lok Sabha elections are underway, political parties have pulled up their socks to impress and intimidate voters (Maneka Gandhi) whichever way suits them the best. The two major parties of the country, Congress and BJP are in no mood to leave any stones unturned to make it to the victory. The General Elections has created a sort of rift in the entertainment industry as well. Last week, more than 600 theatre personalities signed a letter urging people to not vote for BJP and its allies. On the other hand, 900 artistes including Shankar Mahadevan, Koena Mitra, Anuradha Paudwal have issued a joint statement asking people to bring back PM Modi to power.

On a related note, Ranveer is currently busy with the preparations of Kabir Khan's 83. The actor's last two movies- Simmba and Gully Boy performed well at the box office. On the other hand, Deepika is currently in Delhi shooting for her forthcoming movie Chhapaak, directed by Meghna Gulzar.
