Alia Bhatt, who is riding high on the success of Raazi is now busy shooting for Dharma Productions' Kalank. The multi-starrer drama also features Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and Varun Dhawan. She is also simultaneously shooting for Ayan Mukerji's fantasy trilogy Brahmastra. Unfortunately, her work has taken a toll on her health as the actress suffered foot injury on the sets of Kalank.
She slipped on the stairs and hurt her foot badly. However, being the fighter she is, Alia continued to shoot owing to its tight schedule. Earlier, Alia suffered shoulder injury while doing action sequences for Brahmastara in Bulgaria. At that time, she was advised to give rest to her shoulder.
Earlier, in an interview with IANS, Alia expressed her excitement about working in Kalank. ''I am really excited. I think the whole casting of the film is really unique. The film is directed by a very dear friend Abhishek, so for me, it is a double fun — working with all these beautiful artistes and to be getting directed by Abhishek,'' said the Raazi star.
Alia, who will next be seen in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy is also reuniting with her Badrinath Ki Dulhania co-star Varun Dhawan in Kalank. The film is an epic drama set in the period of 1940s and is being directed by Abhishek Varman. It was conceptualised by Karan Johar and his father Yash Johar around 15 years back. Earlier, Sridevi was to play a role in the movie, however, after her sudden demise, Madhuri was roped in.
Alia is currently rumoured to be dating co-star Ranbir Kapoor. Recently, in an interview, the actor said, ''It’s really new right now, and I don’t want to over speak. It needs time to breathe and it needs space. As an actor, as a person, Alia is – what’s the right word? – flowing right now. When I see her work, when I see her act, even in life, what she gives is something that I’m aspiring to for myself. It’s new for us, so let it cook a bit.''
