Director Prakash Jha's political drama, Raajneeti will air on television screens within four weeks of releasing on film screens on June 4.Prakash Jha has already notched up the satellite telecast rights of his film Raajneeti.
His multi-starrer is slated to release on June 4 and within four weeks, it will be telecast on television.In yet another eyeball-catching spree, Colors will air the political drama. Buzz is that they have paid over Rs 5 crore to secure the telecast rights.
Raajneeti stars Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai and Nana Patekar.
Last year, the channel had created a buzz after it had aired Anthony D'Souza's Blue within 45 days of its release and Rajkumar Santoshi's Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani within two months of its outing. Blue had tanked at the B-O but Ajab... which had a good run created a stir by the decision of its makers to let the channel air it within weeks.
It had also led to a division among film folk who felt such a move would eat into the theatre earnings of the projects. But several were of the opinion that no film runs for more than four to five weeks even if it does well, so it is better to sell the satellite rights soon and earn the moolah.The channel had paid Rs 4.5 crore for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani more than double of what it had doled out for Blue.
