After a few weeks of being in her post- wedding style wilderness, Shilpa Shetty finally seems to have got back into her chic groove.
The star wore a classy Louis Vuitton dusty pink skirt and beige top to a recent awards event in Mumbai, reclaiming her position as a fashion diva. She was in serious danger of losing that image after many glaring examples of haphazard dressing post- marriage, says a report in Mail Today.
Perhaps it was the stress of a picture- perfect wedding, but Shilpa was photographed recently in a bedraggled style, with her attire looking like a biker chic gone wrong and a slapdash mix- and- match, leading fashion watchers disappointed.
But she now seems to have got her style dictate back. At the awards event, she heralded a clean spring look in a muted beige top with puff sleeves and an offset dusty rose skirt with a frill pattern.
Her minimal makeup and clutter- free accessories — a beige clutch and flesh- toned high heels — completed the look. Though Shilpa has always been a trendy, attention- grabbing dresser — her love for flashy animal prints and ‘ It' bags is well known — her recent avatar shows that Mrs Kundra wants to cultivate a more cultured and cosmopolitan look. It is a look that is subtle yet sharp, feminine but not frou- frou.
Designer Anupamaa Dayal says, “ Shilpa knows her fashion. Pairing pastels with nudes is the biggest trend this season. Flesh- toned shoes too will be a big rage.” Shilpa has proved she is much more clued in than her contemporaries who are still glued to the silk- and- satin look. At the same awards event, actress Priety Zinta was seen in an aubergine satin dress while tennis star Sania Mirza wore a flashy fuschia satin shirt with a black skirt.
Says Dayal: “ Shilpa's style stood out because it was not typically Bollywood. She did not wear a dress that overpowered her but something that added substance to her personality. It's a style that not many Bollywood girls attempt as they want to stick to their signature styles.”
