Happy New Year beats Bang Bang's lifetime collection, mints Rs 183.50 cr in eleven days

New Delhi: ‘Happy New Year' starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone with its second Monday collection of Rs 3 cr has surpassed Hrithik Roshan's Bang Bang's lifetime collection of Rs 181 cr.

The Farah Khan directorial within eleven days of its release has collected Rs 183.30 cr nett in India and is now the second biggest grosser of the year after Salman Khan Kick' whose lifetime collection is Rs 233 cr.

The opening day of Happy New Year has mostly helped the movie garner such a massive total because the day wise collection has declined drastically after a fantastic first weekend where it minted Rs 108.68 cr nett in India.

Here is the eleven days break through of Happy New Year in India-

Fri 44.97 cr, Sat 31.60 cr, Sun 32.29 cr, Mon 15 cr, Tue 13 cr- Wed 11.50, Thur 9.4 Total 157.50 cr nett. Week 2- Fri 7 Sat 7.50 Sun 8.50 Mon 3 Total- 26 cr nett.

If compared to other top blockbusters of Bollywood, Happy New Year is at number five. Dhoom 3 (Rs 234.66 cr), Krrish 3 (Rs 211.60 cr), Kick (Rs 203.93 cr), Chennai Express (Rs 186.03 cr) are ahead of the action-comedy flick with their eleven days collection.

According to trade experts, the movie shall enter Rs 200 cr club by the end of its second week, however, looking at the trends, the movie may take more time to achieve that milestone.

This week will witness two new releases namely Rang Rasiya and Shaukeens. While Rang Rasiya starring Randeep Hooda has been in controversies and years after its battle, will finally see day's light, Shaukeens having Akshay playing an alcoholic character is a light-hearted entertainment. Happy New Year is surely going to get affected but at what rate, will be known when these two movies finally hit the screens.
