Bollywood circles are rife with rumours about top star Katrina Kaif being in love with the most eligible bachelor Ranbir Kapoor.
A tabloid reported on Wednesday that the two exchanged text messages and gifts, there were constant phone calls and even a reported visit by Katrina Kaif to the Kapoor house, but sources close to Katrina stoutly denied this report in the tabloid itself.
The report says, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have taken their so-called friendship to the next level. The two bonded instantly when they first met on the sets of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani last year. And later on the sets of Prakash Jha's Rajneeti.
Says the report, when their closeness was reported last year, they were both in relationships and they restrained themselves. But now that they are both single, they are rediscovering each other without looking over their shoulders and minus any guilt.
Close friends reveal that they are totally into each other and find it extremely hard to keep their growing fondness for each other under wraps, says the report.
After the Ranbir-Deepika break-up became public, the number of meetings, phone calls and text messages between the duo have increased.
The report says, Ranbir isn't even trying to conceal his new-found love for Katrina. She too has moved on from Salman, and they are now "just friends" now they've decided that they have grown out of the relationship.
The report quoted a ‘source' to say that Ranbir has been worried about Katrina after her recent bout of illness. He constantly calls to check on her health. "He's extremely concerned about her health and has told her to take it easy. Apart from sending her flowers and sweet messages, he's also been talking to her worried family abroad and telling them he will take care of her. Kat is very touched by his concern and has been telling friends how sweet he is”, the source said.
However, the biggest indicator of the seriousness of this new relationship are Katrina's visits to Ranbir's house.
The report quotes the source, "She's worked with his dad in Namastey London so there's a feeling of comfort. Ranbir is extremely close to his mom and doesn't do anything she won't approve. So getting her approval is extremely important for him."
The report also says Ranbir also gifted her a pendant recently, "This is something between them and only a few people. He sent her a pendant after Ajab was declared a hit. She has only told a very few people that it's from him."Friends confirm that's its only a matter of time before the two make it official.
However, the same tabloid report says a source close to Katrina has rubbished talk of Ranbir getting close to her. The source said, “Katrina has been keeping unwell for quite some time. All this buzz about Ranbir sending her flowers and text messages is untrue. In fact, they haven't even met up after the release of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.”
The source also clarified that Katrina had not visited the Kapoor house. “She hasn't been to his house, neither is she close to his family. In fact the only person who has been by her side in the illness if Salman's mom.”
About the pendant gifted by Ranbir, the source said, “The one pendant being assumed as Ranbir's gift is actually something picked from Hill Rod, Bandra. Forget gifting her something, Ranbir hasn't even checked on her health even since she fell sick.”
