New Delhi: Himesh Reshamiya's musical suspense thriller ‘The Xpose' was eclipsed by the Hollywood release ‘Godzilla', featuring a giant lizard, at box office on the opening day and what looks like, it will continue with its effect in the coming week too.
However, despite garnering mixed reviews, ‘The Xpose' couldn't capitalize being a solo Bollywood release.
On Day 1, this Ananth Mahadevan directorial earned mere Rs 2.97 cr nett in India. “TheXpose Fri Rs 2.97 cr nett. India biz. Picked up in evening/night shows”, confirmed trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh.
Also, being an election result day, the business of the flicks was ought to get affected but despite that, Godzilla remained the viewers' first choice that made Rs 5 cr as per trade analyst on Friday.
More than a four week old flick ‘2 States' featuring Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor, not only entered the elite club of Rs 100 cr but continued to add some more moolah last week. The flick has raked in Rs 104 cr in four weeks in India and anything in its fifth week would be commendable.
Looking at the next release, it's the much awaited superstar Rajinikanth's ‘Kochadaiiyaan' finally going to hit the theatres and is surely going to bring storm at the box office. Also debutant Tiger Shroff's ‘Heropanti' will hit alongside and it would be interesting to see how it stands against this storm.
