Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja starrer Veere Di Wedding made many hearts beat faster with its terrific screenplay and phenomenal acting of the actors, but with Race 3 taking over cinemas this Friday, the flick witnessed a huge downfall in the numbers.
While the first and second week saw crazy footfall making the collection for Week 1, Rs. 56 cr and for Week 2, Rs. 20 cr, week 3 was a disappointment as it minted just Rs. 3.10 cr. Bollywood’s trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his social media to share the box office collection of the movie and it was obvious that Salman Khan’s Race 3 has affected Veere Di Wedding badly.
While Veere Di Wedding had a great opening, it was nothing in comparison to Salman Khan starrer Race 3 which opened with Rs 29.17 cr on its first day. It goes without saying that Salman Khan enjoys a huge fan following. Thus, despite receiving mixed reviews, Race 3 emerged as the biggest opener of 2018. It has even crossed the 100 cr mark in just 3 days.

The real test begins today [Mon]... Now that the euphoria surrounding #Race3 has settled down, the word of mouth will come into play on weekdays... What will be its lifetime biz? ₹ 200 cr? ₹ 250 cr? ₹ 300 cr? Or will it cruise past ₹ 300 cr? Only time will tell. Unlike #TigerZindaHai, which enjoyed an uninterrupted run for few weeks, #Race3 has one more week to score... Rajkumar Hirani’s much-awaited movie #Sanju - which is high on hype - hits the screens on 29 June 2018... Obviously, the screens, shows and footfalls are bound to get divided.
Talking about Veere Di Wedding, it looks like the movie has had its days in the sun and now its Salman Khan’s time to shine. Other than Kareena and Sonam, the movie also stars Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania. Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, the film is produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor and Nikhil Dwivedi.
