After the huge success of Baahubali 2, Bollywood didn’t get to see any film setting the box office on fire. Many movies have been released recently but none of them turned out to be a rage at the box office. The surprising element is even films of superstars like Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan met the same fate. The box office debacle of Tubelight and recently released Jab Harry Met Sejal is not hidden from anyone. This is an indication that movie buffs have moved over star power and only captivating stories can convince the audiences to watch the film.

Tubelight

Salman’s Tubelight was one of the most anticipated films of the year as after the immense success of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the superstar was once again collaborating with filmmaker Kabir Khan but nothing worked. The movie didn’t get a desired start. It opened to 21.15 crores which was much less than his previous films. Even, the actor compensated distributors for film's losses.

Jab Harry Met Sejal collaborated the blockbuster Jodi of Shah Rukh and Anushka Sharma with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali but the result was disappointing. The movie collected Rs 15.25 crores on its first day and it has still not entered 100 crore club.

After Baahubali 2, it seems that the box office business has hit the rock bottom. From Jagga Jasoos to Mubarakan, films left no impression on movie buffs.
