After receiving rave reviews for his portrayal of Maharawal Ratan Singh in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat, Shahid Kapoor is now full of energy and good vibes. And with this, Shahid has kick-started the shooting of his next film Batti Gul Meter Chalu. After playing a king, the actor has turned into a common man for Shree Narayan Singh's film. He shared the first look from the sets in which he can be seen riding a motorbike.
It seems Shahid has gone back to his 'chocolate-boy' days. Looking quite handsome in the new avatar as a Uttarakhand localite, Shahid took to Instagram to share his picture. He wrote, ''Day 1. On set. Batti Gul meter Chalu. Here we go. #goodpeople #goodvibes.'' In another picture, he can be seen sharing a hearty laughter with Toilet Ek Prem Katha director Shree Narayan Singh. This second social drama of Shree Narayan revolves around long hours of power cuts and ironical high electricity bills.
The film also stars Yami Gautam and Shraddha Kapoor. While Yami is playing a lawyer in the film, Shraddha will be seen in her usual bubbly avatar. The shooting of Batti Gul Meter Chalu will be done across Uttarakhand in Haridwar, Rishikesh, Tehri, Mussoorie and Nainital. The film will release on August 31, 2018.
Earlier in an interview to PTI, Shree Narayan Singh spilled the beans on working with Shahid and said, ''With films like Kaminey, Jab We Met, Haider and Udta Punjab, Shahid Kapoor has definitely proved his mettle as an actor. Having said that, his star presence is undeniable and I look forward to working with him.''
