Ayesha Jhulka left a smile on everyone's face with her stint in Aamir Khan's film Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. Ayesha is featured in one of the most romantic songs ever- Pehla Nasha and we can't seem to get over it. Later, she went on to feature in a number of movies. But over the years, she completely vanished from the silver screen. Now, according to a report by Mumbai Mirror, the '90s actress is all set to make her Bollywood comeback with the Gadar helmer Anil Sharma's upcoming film Genius. The film also marks the debut of Sharma's son, Utkarsh.
Speaking to a leading tabloid, Ayesha revealed, "I was not really prepared to work again, but Anil ji was really insistent. My character is a classy, elegant and an independent woman who is also a liberal mother and has a friendly relationship with her daughter. It's not the typical, conventional mother, which is what made me say 'yes' to it."
"I have enjoyed my time as a leading lady. One has to grow with age and accept things the way they are. I have done good work and now there is a chance for the little kids to start doing it," she added.
The report further suggests that the actor will play Utkarsh’s love interest Ishita Chauhan’s mother in the film. The project will go on floors from December 8. Ayesha Jhulka also revealed that she would soon venture into filmmaking. “My husband and I will be jointly directing a love story with consumerism as the backdrop. We should be able to take it on the floors in a year or so,” Ayesha said.
