Nawazuddin Siddiqui expresses gratitude for making 'small budget' Babumoshai Bandookbaaz a hit

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of those actors barring Khans who holds the power to pull the crowd in theaters. His latest flick which is getting mixed reviews is faring well at the Box Office. Made with the budget of Rs 5 cr, the movie has raked in Rs 7. 53 crore so far. Considering its star cast and low budget, the film's performance has been above expectations.Starring Bidita Bag, Jatin Goswami, Shraddha Das, Divya Dutta, etc, the movie helmed by Kushan Nandy is standing tall and strong before comparatively stylish A Gentleman. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his official Twitter account to tweet the numbers. "#BabumoshaiBandookbaaz witnessed growth over the weekend... Fri 2.05 cr, Sat 2.41 cr, Sun 3.07 cr. Total: ₹ 7.53 cr," he posted.

After that, the movie trending on Twitter with hashtag Babumoshai Profitbaaz. Lead actor Nawaz expressed his gratitude via Twitter, "Thank You Soo much for making a small budget film HIT," he wrote. 

Congratulatory messages from well-wishers and friends started pouring in. Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar applauded the team saying "congratulations.. hearing really good about #BabumoshaiBandookbaaz." 

Chef Vikas Khanna also hailed the film calling it a brilliant piece."Newage Indian cinema brilliance. Thank you," Vikas wrote.

On the day of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz's release, there was buzz regarding its budget which compelled Nawazuddin to make a statement on Twitter. "People are talking about the budget of ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz', yes it's a Rs 5 crore film including publicity and advertising, but for me it's an art of cinema regardless of budget," the actor posted.

The film courted many controversies ahead of its release due to CBFC, Chitrangada Singh and Nawaz's tweet on racism. In the reign of Pahlaj Nihalani, Babumoshai Bandookbaaz was suggested 48 cuts in the film by Censor Board, however, it hit the screens with minor 8 cuts. Chitrangada Singh walked out of the film owing to some problems with the script, thus paving way for Bidita Bag.
