Mallika Sherawat is in talks for adapting a popular American show The Good Wife. She has acquired the rights to remake the show and will be adapting the series for India.
She will not only produce the show but will also play Alicia Forrick's character in the show. The Good Wife is a legal and political drama. The series traces the journey of a housewife named Alicia Forrick (played by Juliana Margulies) who returns to her career in law after the events of a public sex and political corruption scandal involving he husband, who is the Cook County State's Attorney. It is one of the most well-written dramas featuring a strong female lead. The team is in the process of finalizing the rest of the cast and crew.
According to a report, Mallika has chosen to adapt The Good Wife for the Indian audience because, she loves the series and it features a fierce and beautifully written female character with enough contradiction, emotional range and surprise. The Good Wife aired from 2009 to 2016 and drew in extensive adoration for the tight narrative, well-written characters, and serialized plot, especially in the critically praised fifth season.
