One of the awaited movies of the year Firangi starring ace comedian Kapil Sharma will not be releasing on its scheduled date. The period action-comedy film was supposed to release on November 24 but, now the makers have shifted the release date by a week. The film will now release on December 1. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter handle to share the news of Firangi’s postponement. “Kapil Sharma’s #Firangi, which was scheduled to release on 24 Nov 2017, is now pushed to 1 Dec 2017... Directed by Rajiev Dhingra... Stars Kapil Sharma and Ishita Dutta”, he tweeted.
However, the reason for postponing the film is not known yet. Interestingly, Firangi is the third film to change its release date after Padmavati controversy.
Earlier, Fukrey Returns announced that they would release a week earlier. While they were supposed to hit the screens on December 15, now the film will head to theaters on December 8.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Monsoon Shootout witnessed a change too. The film was heading for a December 15 release but now one can watch the film on December 8 in their nearby theaters.
Speaking about Firangi, Kapil Sharma said that audience's love encouraged him to do the second film. He went on to say that people pointed out that his debut movie felt like an extension of his TV show with its gag-a-minute comedy. That's when he thought that the second one should be different. Kapil also felt he shouldn’t dominate every frame in the movie ''To control the quality, I also turned producer for it,'' he adds.
