Karan Johar's ambitious project Kalank witnessed a 10 per cent drop in its box office collection on Tuesday. According a report in Boxofficeindia.com, the multi-starrer collected an estimated Rs 3.20 crore on its seventh day, bringing its total collection to Rs 69.25 crore. Directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank stars Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Duttt, Madhuri Dixit, Kunal Khemu, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapoor in lead roles.

Alia Bhatt responds to Kalank's poor box office collection, says, 'I'll make sure not to disappoint next time'
“The film had an extended five-day weekend which has actually helped the film get this far, if it was a normal weekend then the collections would be far lower as the weekday collections would probably have come down to these levels regardless of a normal weekend or extended weekend. The best business for the film will come in Mumbai and Mysore with West Bengal also holding better on weekdays”, according to Box Office India report.
Kalank, set in the 1940s, is a period drama, which revolves around stories of six characters who are connected by love and revenge. The film hit the screens on April 17.
