Junglee Box Office Collection Day 2: Vidyut Jammwal's film witnesses growth, earns Rs 7.70 crore

Latest Bollywood offering Junglee, starring Vidyut Jammwal and Pooja Sawant in the lead, explores the animal kingdom and the relationship with the creatures of the forest. Helmed by Chuck Russell who is known for films like The Mask, The Scorpion King and I Am Wrath, Junglee is an action-adventure film that looks promising. Coming to the box office collection, Junglee released on March 29, and was off to a slow start. However, it picked up on Saturday earning Rs 4.45 crore, taking the overall box-office report to Rs 7.70 crore on the second day of its release.

"#Junglee witnesses growth on Day 2, but not substantial enough... Mass circuits remain consistent, but finds the going tough in metros/plexes... Fri 3.25 cr, Sat 4.45 cr. Total: ₹ 7.70 cr. India biz", film critic Taran Adarsh announced latest Junglee Box Office Collection.

Reviewing Junglee, our India TV critic said, "Following a plainly written screenplay, the only redeeming feature of this film is Vidyut Jammwal's jaw-dropping action sequences. Watch Junglee if you are a part of Vidyut's fan club, or love action films. You can also plan to enjoy this film over the weekend with your kids as they'll like it more than you do for its bright colours and a social message on preserving jungles and elephants".

Junglee released alongside the Salman Khan-produced Notebook and has beaten the latter hands down. The romantic drama, starring debutants Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl, has collected Rs 75 lakh on its first day.

Junglee, that involves a lot of elephants and has Jammwal performing his own action stunts, was previously supposed to be directed by Rohan Sippy. Sippy had said that the 1971 Salim-Javed film Haathi Mere Saathi became his inspiration for the film. It is ironical that it later went to Russell.
