Badla refuses to slow down at the box office, despite a massive clash with Hollywood film Captain Marvel.

Badla Box Office Collection Day 6: Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu’s crime-thriller maintains grip at BO 

Sujoy Ghosh directorial Badla which had Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role refuses to slow down even while reaching towards the end of its first week. Despite clashing with Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, the crime thriller maintained its pace at the box office, remaining mildly affected by the clash with Hollywood superhero film. In the matter of six days, Badla crossed the Rs 40 crore mark at the box office. Tweeting about the box office collection, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote:

‘#Badla refuses to slow down... Maintains a solid grip on Day 6... Admirable trending on weekdays demonstrates the power of solid content... Fri 5.04 cr, Sat 8.55 cr, Sun 9.61 cr, Mon 3.75 cr, Tue 3.85 cr, Wed 3.55 cr. Total: ₹ 34.35 cr. India biz. Gross BOC: ₹ 40.53 cr.’

Badla is an official Bollywood remake of hit Spanish film The Invisible Guest. It revolves around a woman (Taapsee Pannu) who is wrongly accused of murder of his colleague. She hires a defence lawyer (Amitabh Bachchan) who has an impeccable track record of winning legal cases.

Badla has been bankrolled by Shah Rukh Khan’s home production banner Red Chillies Entertainment. The superstar was intensely involved with the promotions of the film. Both Amitabh Bachchan and SRK hosted a mini-chat show called Badla Unplugged in which they talked about their film.
