Ranveer Singh has added another feather to his cap for the portrayal of menacing Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat. The powerhouse actor will be honoured as the Best Actor at Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards 2018 for Padmaavat.
Padmaavat is Ranveer's first ever 300 crore blockbuster. The movie also starring Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor set cash registers ringing despite protests from fringe groups. The actor received appreciation for his portrayal of the merciless king from critics and audience alike.

Apart from Ranveer, Anushka Sharma will also be conferred with the coveted award for being a 'path-breaking' producer.
