Touted as one of the most expensive Indian movies of all time, 2.0 has been grabbing the spotlight for all the right reasons. While the excitement level is always high for a Rajinikanth starrer film, fans were all excited to see Akshay Kumar in a negative role. However, in the latest development, it has been reported that the Toilet: Ek Prem Katha actor is not playing a villain in 2.0. It was said that Akshay does have a ferocious look in the film, which the posters also suggest, but he’s isn’t the baddie in the film.
“Akshay is not a villain in 2.0. The costume and prosthetics suggest he plays a ferocious character. And he does! But Akshay’s Dr Richard is fighting for the right causes. He struggles against forces that have plundered and devastated the earth,” a source was quoted as saying to Deccan Chronicle.
Furthermore, the source said that the character was never negative even when it was offered to Kamal Hasaan but it did have some rough edges. “Once Akshay Kumar came in, even hints of negativity were removed as they clashed with his image of the national hero,” the source added.
Recently, the makers of 2.0 released a poster featuring Akshay Kumar in a spooky avatar, which took the internet by storm. Check out the poster right here.
