Palghar Lok Sabha Bypoll Counting LIVE Updates: Three-prong contest between Shiv Sena, BJP, Congress

Palghar Lok Sabha Bypoll Results:  BJP candidate Gavit Rajendra Dhedya has defeated Shiv Sena's Shrinivas Chintaman Vanaga to secure Palghar Lok Sabha seat. As per the last counting input available, BJP was leading by 17843 votes over Shiv Sena after the ninth round of counting.

The voting, held on Monday, was marred by reports of glitches in the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), which were debunked by the Election Commission. The commission clarified that the technical errors occurred only in VVPAT machines, which were soon replaced with extra units in reserve.

The voter turnout was recorded at 46 per cent.

In Palghar, the contest is between Shiv Sena candidate and late BJP MP's son Srinivas Chintaman Vanaga, BJP's Gavit Rajendra Dhedya and Congress' Damodar Barku Shingada.
