The Election Commission (EC) barred Sadhvi Pragya Thakur from campaigning for 72 hours starting 6 am Thursday. She is the BJP candidate from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. EC barred Sadhvi for seeking votes on religious lines thereby violating the model code of conduct (MCC). Meanwhile, after campaigning in various parts of Amethi, Priyanka Gandhi, on Thursday and Friday, spent time travelling across Rae Bareli seeking support for Sonia Gandhi.
