Delhi University bars use of tractor, JCB for DUSU elections 2026; check guidelines

The Delhi University has barred the use of JCBs, tractors, and luxury vehicles for the campaigning of Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections going with the Delhi High Court and Lyngdoh Committee guidelines. "No stickers with the candidate’s name are to be pasted on any vehicles, like Cars, Jeeps, Buses, Auto and E-Rickshaws, etc. In this context, it was made very clear that only five cars are allowed during election campaigning for each contesting candidate, and there is no permission for the use of tractor, JCB or animals," read the DU release. 

The varsity has also put restrictions on the use of printed materials and banners in student union elections. There will be a complete ban on printed materials, no defacement of public property in an around the campus and no billboards, banners are to be pasted or suspended from the poles. The decision was taken following a meeting of the university proctor and his team with DUSU office bearers and representatives of various student bodies, as per the DU notification. 

Cars with tinted glasses and hidden/no number plates are strictly prohibited. Unauthorised vehicle, if parked in the DU campus, will be issued a challan or towed away, as per the protocol of the Traffic Police. No gifts or souvenirs with the candidate’s name are to be distributed. No canopy and umbrella etc with the candidate’s names are not allowed in the campus.  If any such materials are found, the candidate's nomination will be cancelled, it added.

DU has released the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) Round 1 Seat Allocation List 2026. The candidates can check and download DU CSAS round one seat allocation list PDF on the official website - admission.uod.ac.in. Candidates who completed the CSAS registration and submitted their programme and college preferences will be able to check their allotted college and course through the DU UG admission portal - admission.uod.ac.in.

The first round admission process will begin immediately after the declaration of the allocation list. Candidates allotted seats will have to complete multiple stages, including seat acceptance, college verification and fee payment.
